besst.ai is the practice of Rinaldo Hassell, operating from AppTechWorks B.V. For twenty years I built and maintained business-critical systems for government and enterprise, from application management and middleware to cloud and automation, and after that to the side of the table where decisions about those systems are made. So I know both the server room and the meeting where the budget is divided.

AI projects in public organisations rarely fail on the model. They fail on permissions, on provenance and on the question of who is accountable when it goes wrong. Those are not AI questions but design and governance questions, and I worked on them for twenty years before the term AI appeared in a board paper. That is why I focus on organisations that work with documents and permissions, rather than on whoever wants a chatbot fastest.

Start small, deliver something that works, and only expand once it is being used. No presentation without a working setup behind it. I work from Amsterdam and remotely, and come by when that makes the difference. What I build for clients stays theirs: their environment, their data, their control.

Microsoft certified, not Microsoft dependent. For organisations already working in Microsoft 365, their own Azure tenant is the logical place. For those who want no data leaving the building, the same setup runs without cloud services on their own hardware.
