No cookies and no tracking

This site sets no cookies and uses no advertising networks or social media buttons. External scripts are technically blocked by the security settings of the site.

When you click the language switch, your browser stores your choice locally (localStorage). That is functional storage you ask for yourself; nothing is sent to me or to third parties.

Statistics without cookies

To see which pages are viewed, the site sends a small message to its own server on every page change containing only the page path and the domain name of the site you came from. That message carries no cookie, no identifier, no IP address and no browser details, so I cannot recognise or follow visitors.

The messages are stored in Application Insights (Microsoft Azure, West Europe region) and deleted automatically after 90 days. Legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used, with minimal data.

Contact form

When you fill in the contact form I process your name, e-mail address, optionally the name of your organisation, and your message. These details are sent as an e-mail to my mailbox through Azure Communication Services (Microsoft, data in the EU) and are not stored on the site. Legal basis: legitimate interest (answering your question) or performance of a contract if it leads to an engagement.

I keep your e-mail as long as needed for the contact, and afterwards according to the statutory retention periods for records. To limit abuse the server briefly keeps in memory how many messages arrive per network address; that is not retained.

The AI Idea Generator

What you enter in the form (organisation, sector, challenge, way of working, and optionally budget and timeline) is passed through an Azure Function to Azure OpenAI in the Sweden region (European Union) to write a proposal. Legal basis: performance of the service you request.

Without further action your input is not stored and not logged; only the outcome (success or failure, duration) is recorded technically. Microsoft does not use Azure OpenAI data to train models.

If you choose to receive the proposal by e-mail and tick the consent box, I store your e-mail address, the name of your organisation, the sector, the proposal and the time of your consent in Azure Table Storage (Microsoft Azure, West Europe region). You receive the proposal by e-mail and I receive a notification, both through Azure Communication Services. Legal basis: your consent. I keep these details for at most twelve months after the last contact, or shorter if you ask: a reply to the e-mail you received or a mail to rinaldo@besst.ai is enough and I delete the data within a month.

Do not enter personal data of others or confidential information. The proposal is a starting point, not advice.

Contact by e-mail or phone

When you e-mail or call me, I process your name, contact details and the content of your message to reply and, if it leads to an engagement, to carry it out. Legal basis: legitimate interest (contact) or performance of a contract. I keep messages as long as needed for the contact, and afterwards according to the statutory retention periods for records.

Hosting and processors

The site runs on Microsoft Azure Static Web Apps; the forms and the generator run as Azure Functions in the same environment. As a processor Microsoft handles technical data such as your IP address to deliver the page and secure the service. There are no other processors.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and you can withdraw consent at any time. E-mail rinaldo@besst.ai; you will receive an answer within one month. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
